Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro started its first sale in India!
Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro are made available for purchase on Thursday in Indian markets. These smartphones will be sold in a flash sale which began at 12 pm on Xiaomi’ s official website (mi.com) and Flipkart.com. It is expected that Redmi Note 4 will be replaced by the new Redmi Note 5 as an all-rounder mid-range smartphone whereas Redmi Note 5 Pro considered as a spiritual successor to Redmi Note 3.
Redmi Note 5
Redmi Note 5 has received upgrades in design, camera, and quality areas when compared with Redmi Note 4. Redmi Note 5 features a 5.99-inch display with 18:9 ratio and with a resolution of 2160 × 1080 pixels. The display is having a Gorilla Glass Protection in the similar form factor of the display. Note 5 has a premium finish metal body with tapered back.
The device is having a thickness of 8.05mm and has a 4,000 mAh battery.
When talking about the camera department, Redmi Note 5 has a 12MP rear camera. It has got an upgraded sensor which can capture better photos even in low light. The front cam having 5MP is sported with LED selfie light and beautify 3.0. Xiaomi is using dual pyrolytic graphite sheet that decreases the temperature by 2 degree Celsius to improvise the hardware quality in Redmi Note 5. A customised power adaptor for India is also featured in Note 5 which can withstand surges up to 380V. It continues to have with the Snapdragon 625 processor paired with either 3GB RAM and 32GB storage or 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
Redmi Note 5 Pro
It is the first phone to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor. This processor claims to offer up to 50 percent higher and sustained performance and up to 40 percent more power efficiency using Kyro 260 CPU. MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat is running in Redmi Note 5 Pro. The device sports a 5.99 inch, 18:9 display with Gorilla Glass Protection. A vertical dual camera setup at the rear has been added by Xiaomi, featuring a 12MP Sony IMX 486 sensor as the primary shooter and a 5MP Samsung sensor for capturing depth information.
Xiaomi added an electronic image stabilisation for video recording in Redmi Note 5 Pro. AI-based computing for capturing portrait selfies are used with the front camera. The secondary snapper is a 20MP Sony IMX 376 sensor with LED selfie light for capturing better selfies in the low-light. Xiaomi is expected to add a Face Unlock feature to Redmi Note 5 Pro in the over-the-air update during March.
Price and Colour Details
Both devices have been priced competitively with all the specifications and features that are currently the best in the range cost. The company offers a cashback offer of Rs. 2,200 in the partnership with Reliance Jio where the telecom giant is expected to give free data up to 4.5TB to both Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro buyers.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has been priced at Rs.9,999 for the 3GB/32GB variant and Rs.11,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant. The 4GB/64GB variant of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro will be priced at Rs.13,999 and the 6GB/64GB variant to be sold at Rs.16,999. Both these smartphones will be available in four colour options namely Black, Lake Blue, Gold, and Rose Gold.
